Bio

Max Lawrence was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in the neighboring city of Silver Spring, Maryland. After experiencing a childhood filled with sports, martial arts, and music, he was sure that he wanted to be one thing in life: a marine biologist. However, after a nearly-devastating freshman year in Honors Biology, he was forced to reassess his options. As the athletic program at his high school was an exclusive club, he tried his hand at a local youth theatre in Bethesda, Maryland. After three successful shows with the Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts and a 6-week acting intensive at Carnegie-Mellon University, Max entered his senior year of high school prepared to pursue acting as a career.
Max earned his B.F.A. degree at Ithaca College in upstate New York. He spent those four years developing skills in Voice & Speech, classical Greek and Shakespearean styles of theatre, Movement, Stage Combat, Maskwork, and so much more. Upon graduating, he moved to Los Angeles, where he has been putting those skills to work ever since. In his time in L.A. he has been seen performing with notable theatre companies such as Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum (where he is a proud company member and teaching artist), A Noise Within, and The Lewis Family Playhouse, all while appearing in television shows, commercials, and industrials for all sorts of projects.

Besides performing and teaching, Max also enjoys spending time at the beach, rooting for the University of Maryland Terrapins, and playing recreational Texas Hold ‘Em. He frequently plays basketball and loves to cook!
